Argumento
Scudder, a detective with the Sheriff's Department, is forced to shoot a violent suspect during a narcotics raid, leading him into an alcoholism spiral that costs him his job and marriage. During his recovery through Alcoholics Anonymous, he meets a mysterious woman who draws him back into the world of vice. In trying to help this woman, Scudder must investigate a murder in a crime-world of prostitution and drugs while resisting the temptation to return to alcohol abuse.
