After losing their eight-year-old son Adam in a traffic accident, Paul and Jessie Duncan agree to have him cloned through an experimental and illegal procedure conducted by Dr. Richard Wells. Eight years pass with Adam II growing up happy and healthy alongside his younger sister Anna. However, strange things begin to happen when Adam starts experiencing violent nightmares and exhibiting signs of schizophrenia. It's later revealed that the original Adam's clone was created from the DNA of a comatose patient who had died mysteriously in an asylum. As Adam's behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the Duncan family faces a terrifying ordeal as they struggle to protect their daughter Anna from her brother's dark influences.
Directed by Nick Hamm and released in 2004, 'Godsend' is a science fiction horror thriller that explores the consequences of human cloning and the lengths parents will go to cope with loss. The film stars Rob Morrow as Paul Duncan, a grieving father who agrees to clone his deceased son, and Greg Kinnear as Dr. Richard Wells, the enigmatic doctor conducting the illegal procedure. As Adam II's behavior becomes more disturbing, the Duncan family must confront the horrifying reality they've created, making 'Godsend' an unsettling exploration of nature versus nurture, identity, and the unforeseen consequences of playing God.
