Argumento
In 'Insumisa', Enrique Faber, a Swiss surgeon, arrives in Cuba in 1810 to search for his missing son. After weeks of investigation, he learns that his son was killed during a slave revolt. Disbelieving this news, Enrique settles in Baracoa and marries Juana, a local woman. His success as a doctor and their marriage attract jealousy and malicious rumors about his high-pitched voice and fragile appearance. One night, four men sent by a slave trader attack him. They undress Enrique and discover that he is actually a woman. Enrique is arrested and faces a scandalous trial.
