Professor Vandooren and his apprentice, Pierre, are tracking Dracula's descendants in their quest to eliminate the immortal vampire. Their search leads them through parallel worlds inhabited by creatures who appear human but possess distinct psychic lives. In one such realm, they encounter a circus dwarf named Paul, who is deeply in love with one of these beings, a woman named Suki. Paul guides them to a mansion where an Order of White Virgins reside, acting strangely and holding captive a beautiful woman named Niki, the intended bride of Dracula himself. Upon Niki's escape, everyone pursues her to Dracula's seaside castle. Along their journey, they face various supernatural threats such as a baby-eating ogress and a wolf-woman played by Brigitte Lahaie. Once at the castle, they witness the bizarre wedding ritual between Dracula and Niki.
Directed by French filmmaker Jean Rollin in 2002, 'La fiancée de Dracula' (TheBride of Dracula) is an unconventional take on vampire lore that blends horror with surreal elements. Set in a world where parallel dimensions exist, the film follows the quest of Professor Vandooren and Pierre to destroy Dracula's descendants. The narrative weaves together various supernatural creatures and encounters, creating a unique and bizarre cinematic experience. Despite its intriguing premise, critical reception for the film has been mixed due to its slow pacing and lack of traditional horror tropes.
