Argumento
In 'La putain du roi', King Victor Amadeus II of Piedmont falls madly in love with Jeanne, the wife of one of his courtiers, upon their first meeting. Despite Jeanne's loyalty to her husband and resistance towards the king's advances, he becomes obsessed with her. The entire court pressures Jeanne to become the king's mistress to save the kingdom from his distracted rule.
