Argumento
In East Texas, Jack falls in love with Ginny, the daughter of his mother's high school sweetheart and the town's banker. Ginny has been away at boarding school but returns for the summer before she leaves for Vassar College. Despite her father's disapproval, Ginny spends time with Jack. Over the course of the summer, they grow closer, ultimately leading to a secret elopement to Louisiana where they marry without parental consent. Ginny soon discovers she is pregnant and receives frightening news from the town doctor about her health. Meanwhile, Ginny's father hires a private investigator to find them and Jack's mother has her own hidden agenda.
