The film follows a woman searching for her missing sister in the jungle. She finds hope when she discovers a film belonging to a dead hit-man which shows her sister being held captive by cannibals. Joined by Robert Kerman's character, Mark Butler, they venture into the jungle and encounter both a cannibal tribe and a cult led by a charismatic leader reminiscent of Jim Jones. Escape becomes increasingly difficult as the cannibals and cult followers pose constant threats.
Mangiati vivi!, directed by Umberto Lenzi in 1980, is an adventure horror film set in the jungle. It's known for its depiction of cannibalism and cult-like behavior. The story revolves around a woman's search for her sister, leading her to uncover disturbing footage of her sibling's captivity among cannibals. Despite being one of the less gruesome entries in the 'Cannibal Film' subgenre, it still contains graphic scenes and explores themes of survival and desperation.
