Argumento
The story follows the life of an actor named Holland (played by Klaus Maria Brandauer). He portrays the role of Mephisto, a demon from the Faustian legend, in a stage production. As the Nazis rise to power in pre-WWII Germany, Holland's performance gains unexpected popularity among them.
