Dizzy Harrison, an unpopular high school senior, decides to transform his image after being bullied by jocks and ignored by the cheerleaders at his school. In order to escape his tormentors, Dizzy intentionally gets himself expelled and enrolls in a new school under the alias Gil Harris. To learn how to become 'cool', he takes lessons from a convict named Jack, who teaches him how to act tough and maintain his facade. At his new school, Dizzy/Gil gains respect from both the jocks and geeks after joining the football team and helping them win games. He also catches the attention of the head cheerleader, Danielle, whom he begins dating. However, Danielle's boyfriend becomes suspicious of Gil's past and starts investigating him, threatening to expose his true identity.
