Argumento

Ned Rochlin, the titular 'idiot brother,' is released from jail after serving time for a crime he committed out of honesty (telling his marijuana dealer that he could trust him with his girlfriend). Upon his release, Ned finds that his sisters—Liz, Miranda, and Natalie—have begun to reevaluate their lives. Liz is struggling with the fact that her husband has been unfaithful and she's unsure about having children; Miranda is trying to maintain a professional image despite her unconventional personal life; and Natalie is attempting to navigate her relationship with a woman who doesn't seem as committed. Throughout the film, Ned helps his sisters in various ways, often serving as an honest broker but also causing some trouble due to his naivete and trustfulness.

Resumen

'Our Idiot Brother' is a comedy-drama that centers around the Rochlin siblings, particularly Ned, who embodies the spirit of perpetual slackerdom. Despite his sisters' initial perceptions of him as the 'idiot brother,' Ned proves to be more insightful than they give him credit for. The film explores themes of honesty, trust, and familial bonds, with Paul Rudd's portrayal of Ned serving as a catalyst for change in his sisters' lives. While there are comedic elements, the movie also delves into serious issues like infidelity, career pressures, and relationship dynamics.
