She has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in The Penguin miniseries. Story
Twenty-one year old Sammy Smalls struggles with self-esteem issues due to her frumpy clothes and a childhood illness that left her with a slight limp. Working as an undercover shoplifter detector at Big Apple Food Town, she has little success with men despite having a crush on busker musician Eugene Zaslavsky. After a disastrous sexual encounter with him, Sammy decides to gain more experience to improve her self-image and prove herself to Eugene.
