Alena Dzebo is a Bosnian actress and assistant director, born on April 1, 1978, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (formerly part of Yugoslavia). Her birth name is Alena Džebo.
After completing her education at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo in 2002, she established herself as a versatile talent in the Balkan film and theater scene. She gained international recognition for her performance in the 2015 drama The Paradise Suite, directed by Joost van Ginkel, where she portrayed the character Nadia. Her career is marked by several notable projects, including leading roles in films like Sabina K. (2015) and the award-winning short film Import (2016).
Beyond acting, she has worked as an assistant director and has been a prominent figure at the Sarajevo Film Festival, even hosting its opening ceremony in 2016. She is also dedicated to social causes, having spent over a decade narrating audiobooks for the Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired in her home country.
