Martha Higareda is a prominent Mexican actress, producer, and screenwriter who gained significant international recognition for her role as Kristin Ortega in the first season of the Netflix sci-fi series Altered Carbon (2018). Born on August 24, 1983, in Villahermosa, Tabasco, she began her acting career at a young age, moving to Mexico City at 14 to pursue theater and film. She made her big-screen debut in 2002 with the critically acclaimed film Amar te duele, which established her as a major star in Latin American cinema.
Beyond her work in Hollywood, Higareda is a powerhouse in the Mexican film industry, often writing and producing her own projects, such as the massive box-office hits Cásese quien pueda and No manches Frida.
