Nerea Barros Noya is a Spanish actress and producer hailing from Santiago de Compostela, Galicia. She began her career in the arts while working as a nurse at the Hospital Clínico de Santiago de Compostela, balancing her medical profession with small roles in film and theater. Barros made her film debut at sixteen in the 1997 Galician film A nena, directed by Xavier Bermúdez, with whom she collaborated again in Rafael (2008). Her early television work includes a significant role in the Galician series Matalobos (2009-2010), but she gained broader recognition in 2013 through her participation in the Antena 3 adaptation of María Dueñas's novel, El tiempo entre costuras. Barros's breakthrough came with her portrayal of Rocío in the critically acclaimed film La isla mínima (2014), for which she received the Goya Award for Best New Actress, affirming her prominence in Spanish cinema. She continued to build her filmography with notable roles in La isla de las mentiras (2020), a drama about heroines who saved shipwreck survivors off the Galician coast, and the television series La novia gitana (2022-2023), adapted from Carmen Mola's novel, earning a Feroz Award nomination for Best Lead Actress. Expanding her creative scope, Barros debuted as a director, writer, and producer with the short documentary Memoria (2022), which garnered a Goya nomination for Best Documentary Short.
