Biografía completa
Born in Niigata, Japan, Sayuri Oyamada is an internationally recognized actress and model renowned for her versatile performances across Japanese and Western cinema. She made her professional debut in 2000 in director Junko Wada's Body Drop Asphalt, which earned her widespread critical acclaim. Throughout the early 2000s, she established herself as a significant talent in Japan with leading roles in notable films such as Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Bright Future (2003), Seventh Anniversary (2003), and the poetic drama Suki Da (2006).
In 2010, Oyamada’s career took an international turn when she was selected by the Japanese Ministry of Culture for an elite cultural exchange program, leading her to study acting in New York City. This transition facilitated her work in global productions, including her "pitch-perfect" performance as Aya in Wayne Wang's 2016 psychological drama While the Women Are Sleeping (Onna ga Nemuru Toki), which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival.
